#401 - Minimally Viable Governance
Description:
With the advent of agile methodologies and their inherent resistance to processes and tools, legacy PMOs face ever-increasing challenges in today's highly regulated environment. This session will demonstrate how to structure a PMO to respond to the needs of an organization undergoing an agile transformation. We will discuss how to strike a sensible balance between agility and governance and manage portfolios with a variety of frameworks while staying out of the way of self-managed teams, while still achieving our mission.

Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to: (1) Identify the inherent conflicts between agile methodologies and the need for governance; (2) Discuss how a PMO can serve agile teams without roadblocks and still achieve governance; (3) Describe the importance of an adaptive, agile PMO that moves the needle within an organization.
